Sherwood Elementary plans walkathon to build community

Both of my kids attended Woodway Elementary School, so I was sad to see that the school was closed last year due to Edmonds School District budget cuts. Turns out that many of those students ended up transferring to Sherwood Elementary School, and the
Sherwood Parent Staff Organization will be hosting a walkathon Oct. 8 to welcome new students and families to the school. Students will walk from 2:15-3:30; then students and their families are invited to return and walk in support of the school from 5-6 p.m., which will be followed by a community dinner. All donations raised will go toward Sherwood PSO-funded projects, including field trips and classroom supplies. For more information, visit the Sherwood Elementary School website.
