Edmonds-Woodway boys edge Meadowdale in double overtime

Edmonds-Woodway boys basketball beat cross-town rival Meadowdale 52-51 in a double overtime game on the Warriors home court Tuesday night.

E-W’s Joon Choi was the hero in the second overtime period when he stole the ball with 10 seconds left and was able to score what seemed like an impossible shot over a Meadowdale defender to win the game.

Josh Jordan led the Warriors with 23 points and eight rebounds, and Andy Willock added 15 points, including three three-pointers. High scorer for the Mavericks was Sam Werner, who had 14 points, while Connor Hamlett added 10.

Wednesday night, the rivalry continues when the Meadowdale girls team hosts the Lady Warriors at 7:30 p.m.
