Second public hearing Tuesday night on commercial flights at Paine Field

The Federal Aviation Administration will hold the second of three public hearings Tuesday night regarding a proposal to begin commercial flights at Everett’s Paine Field. The City of Edmonds and the cities of Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace and Mukilteo have gone on record as opposing the proposal to allow commercial service by Horizon and Allegiant airlines due to the resulting increased air traffic over their respective cities.

Tuesday night’s hearing starts at 6:30 p.m. in PUD Auditorium, 2320 California St., Everett. An additional hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Lynnwood Convention Center.

Written comments on the proposal will be accepted untiil Feb. 5 and can be emailed to airserviceacomments@snoco.org. The draft environmental assessment can be viewed at https://www.painefield.com/airserviceea.html
