Seattle Times: Allied Waste garbage strike averted

The Seattle Times is reporting via Twitter that Allied Waste and Teamsters Local 174 have reached an agreement on a contract, averting a strike that was scheduled to take place at midnight.

More details will be reported as they become available.

No official word yet on the status of labor negotiations with Waste Management Northwest, which serves about 100 homes north of Edmonds’ Lake Ballinger neighborhood.
