Update: Police release statement on car-pedestrian accident

Edmonds police released the following statement regarding Sunday night’s car-pedestrian accident:

“On Sunday evening, March 7, 2010, at 9:03 p.m., Edmonds police officers were dispatched to the 23700 block of State Route 99 upon a report of a man laying in the southbound lanes of the roadway. Upon arrival, officers learned that a vehicle traveling northbound on SR-99 struck a pedestrian in the highway. The pedestrian came to rest in the inside southbound lane. There is not a marked crosswalk at this location. The pedestrian, a 23-year-old Seattle man, was transported to Harborview Hospital with ride leg injuries and multiple abrasions. All lanes of State Route 99 were reopened at 2:30 a.m. Monday morning.

” The collision is being investigated by the Edmonds Police Traffic Unit. There is no additional information to release at this time.”
