Medics aid scuba diver at Edmonds underwater park Saturday

Paramedics came to the aid of a 62-year-old man who experienced a medical emergency while scuba diving in Edmonds Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters received a report of a diver in distress at the underwater park just north of the Edmonds Ferry Dock at 1:48 p.m.

“Another diver swam about 100 yards to shore with the man. Other divers were performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation when medics arrived,” said Leslie Hynes, public information officer for Snohomish County Fire District 1, which provides fire and emergency medical service in the City of Edmonds.

The paramedics transported the man to Stevens Hospital. The fire department had no further information to release on the man’s condition due to privacy laws.
