It’s the city’s biggest block party, and you’re invited: This Tuesday is “A Night Out Against Crime” in Edmonds, a day to lock your doors, turn on your porch lights and bring your neighbors to celebrate our community’s many valuable programs and services. Learn how to combat crime while meeting your neighbors, local businesses and emergency responders who care and make a difference.
This free community safety event combines family fun with public safety awareness. The traditional “Night Out Against Crime” took on an “Edmonds Kind of Day” flair several years ago and became a safety event tailored to Edmonds residents. With the generous help of local businesses and many volunteers, the Edmonds Police Foundation is able to continue to provide this free event for “kids of all ages.”
Edmonds Night Out will be held at the Frances Anderson Playfield, 700 Main St., from 5-8 p.m. Opening ceremonies begin at 6 p.m, with a presentation of the colors, followed by a welcome address. Edmonds police and fire officials, along with public safety agencies from South Snohomish County, local businesses and non-profit organizations will provide displays, special vehicles, and relevant safety information on a wide range of topics. Specialized emergency vehicles, the K-9 unit, the SWAT unit, and fire trucks are always among the spectator favorites.
outdated info from 2010…. is anyone minding the store?
You must have come across an old story. Edmonds traditionally has its Night Out activities a week before the national event — and this year’s happened last Tuesday. Here’s the story: https://myedmondsnews.com/2014/07/edmonds-night-shines-light-public-safety/
