Mall robbery suspect chased from Edmonds to Everett, then arrested

A man suspected of robbing an elderly couple at knife point near Alderwood Mall Wednesday afternoon has been captured after leads from the public led police to Stevens Hospital in Edmonds, where the man had checked himself in for uknown reasons.

The suspect, a 25-year-old from Everett, was identified as being the man pictured in the surveillance video. With Lynnwood police detectives on his trail, the suspect left the hospital Friday morning on foot wearing the blue scrubs from the hospital, and hopped on a Community Transit bus. Officers broadcast the information to local agencies, and Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies arrested him at an Everett Park and Ride lot.

The suspect will be booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of one count of first-degree robbery. Detectives are continuing to investigate this case to see if he is connected to any other recent robberies in the area.
