New rules for renting space in Edmonds School District buildings

Anyone interested in renting space in an Edmonds School District building should note that the district has recently changed  both the number of buildings available and how that use is scheduled. The changes are aimed at reducing energy costs, using custodial time more efficiently and making the rental process more equitable district-wide, the district said in recent community newsletter.

Certain school buildings are now designated for community use, with extended hours in each district quadrant. There will now be standard hours for when all buildings will be open, and buildings will be closed outside of the designated schedule. Exceptions are permitted for school-based evening activities.

Scheduling will now be done centrally for any community groups interested in renting space. To find out what buildings are available and any associated fees, contact Jamie Smith in the Facilities and Operations office at 425-431-3844 or via email at smithja@edmonds.wednet.edu.
