Edmonds-area fire calls, week of Sept. 2-8

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 346 calls the week of Sept. 2-8: 270 emergency medical aid calls, 21 fires, 26 motor vehicle collisions, 10 service calls, 17 fire alarms and two natural gas leaks. The following calls took place in or near Edmonds:

Sept. 2
CAR-MOTORCYCLE COLLISION. At 6:47 p.m., a motorcyclist crashed after being cut-off by a car in the 22900 block of Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the motorcyclist to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION. At 2:55 p.m., firefighters took one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a two-car collision at Filbert Road and North Road east of Lynnwood.

Sept. 3
FALL FROM LADDER. At 12:25 p.m., a contractor fell 10 feet from a ladder while working at a house in the 1400 block of 8th Avenue South in Edmonds. Firefighters transported by man by medic unit to Harborview Medical Center.

Sept. 4
FIRE. At 3:30 p.m., firefighters responded to a house filled with smoke in the 300 block of Caspers Street in Edmonds. Firefighters discovered a small fire in a trash can. The fire did not extend to the structure.

Sept. 5
OVEN FIRE. At 1:33 p.m., firefighters responded to an oven fire at a home in the 19400 block of 89th Place West in Edmonds. The fire did not extend from the oven. Firefighters used fans to clear smoke from the house.

WINDOW FALL. At 7:06 p.m., a 5-year-old girl was seriously injured when she fell from a second-floor window at an apartment in the 14500 block of Admiralty Way north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported the girl to Harborview Medical Center.

COLLISION. At 11:22 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a one-car collision on northbound I-5 south of 196th Street Southwest.

Sept. 6
KITCHEN FIRE. At 7:25 p.m., firefighters responded to a kitchen fire in a townhouse in the 16200 block of North Road. Oil ignited in a pan, but did not extend beyond the stove top. Firefighters used fans to clear smoke from the home.

Sept. 7
COLLISION. At 4:49 p.m., firefighters took one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a two-car collision at 76th Avenue West and Highway 99 in Edmonds.

Sept. 8
COLLISION. At 6:02 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett after responding to a collision at 148th St. SW and Highway 99 north of Lynnwood.
