Edmonds parents: It counts when your child rides the bus this week

If your child is in the Edmonds School District and takes the bus to school, it’s important that he or she rides the bus this week. The district will count district-transported students on school buses each morning for five consecutive days starting tomorrow, Monday, Sept. 27 through Friday, Oct. 1.

The number of students riding during Ridership Count Week is used by the State of Washington to calculate the State funding that partially supports District transportation operations. The remainder of transportation funding is generated through voter-funded levies.

  1. Students are counted every Monday throughout the year also. Every time a parent drives their child to school it cost the school district money that is desperately needed. You can save gas and put less cars on the road too.
