Spend Labor Day weekend hunting treasure in downtown Edmonds

Channel your inner pirate for the Edmonds Treasures Sidewalk Sale and Treasure Hunt on Labor Day weekend, Friday-Sunday, in downtown Edmonds.

Shop keepers all around town are filling sidewalk tables with great goodies that are priced to move, said Ruth Arista of Arista Wine Cellar. These are overstocked items, items with slight dings, or end-of-season offerings.  ”The Sidewalk Sale full of terrific treasures starts officially on Friday and continues Saturday and Sunday,” she said. “Shops that are open Monday will also keep things out on sale.”

Besides great treasures at the Edmonds Sidewalk Sale, mateys of all ages can enjoy hunting for clues all around town beginning Friday.  Treasure “maps” with the clues in them can be picked up at participating merchants: Just look for the Skull and Cross bones in their window. Each set of clues has a series of pirate phrases in it. Each phrase is missing a word. As adventurers journey through town, the missing words can be found in participating shops.

Once the voyage is finished and words are filled in the log, drop it off at Arista Wine Cellars, 320 5thAve. S. There will be drawings at the end of the weekend for several Treasure Chests of prizes donated by Edmonds merchants, suitable for children and adults.
