Edmonds City Council to take another look at 2011 budget Tuesday night

The meeting may be just a few days before Christmas, but the Edmonds City Council Tuesday night has some serious business to clear off its plate before any holiday celebrations begin.

Peggy Pritchard Olson

For starters, the council will meet in executive session from 5:30-7 p.m. regarding real estate negotiations and labor negotiation strategy.  Then it’s on to a busy agenda, including annual reports from the City Attorney and Public Defender, a public hearing on amendments to several Comprehensive Plan Elements, and continued discussion and possible approval of the 2011 budget.

The council also will consider a resolution to name the Edmonds Library Building in honor of the late Edmonds City Councilmember Peggy Pritchard Olson, who died in November 2009 after battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

The complete council agenda is here. The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers, Public Safety Complex, at 250 5th Ave. N.

Real estate negotiations? Really? No budget yet though.
Absolutely the library should be named to honor Ms Pritchard-Olson.

I whole heartedly support naming the library in honor of Peggy Pritchard Olson.

I thought the city does not own the library anymore. At least out tax dollars for the library do not run through the city. I amy be wrong.
