My Edmonds News interviewed long-time Edmonds-Woodway High School boys and girls tennis coach Dan Crist about the upcoming girls season, which kicks off Monday (weather pending) with a non-league matchup vs. 3A opponent Meadowdale. Crist says this year saw the largest group of girls he can remember — a total of 68 — trying out for the team. “We had to let 26 kids go,” Crist said. “I think the first year I came here we didn’t have 26 kids on the entire team.”
Crist also talks about his hopes for the eventual installation of lights at the E-W tennis courts (the tennis team will be one of the beneficiaries of the high school’s fundraising auction this Saturday) and also recaps which E-W boys are going to the state tennis tournament over Memorial Day weekend.
