Irish eyes will be smiling on Edmonds this Thursday, as the city welcomes St. Patrick’s Day revelers with art, food and drink citywide.
Let’s start with the setting. This year, St. Patrick’s Day happens to fall on the day of downtown’s third Thursday Art Walk, with demonstrations, music and other fun activities. And My Edmonds News sponsor Glazed & Amazed is offering 20 percent off projects for anyone wearing green.
And then there’s the food and drink. Several Edmonds-area restaurants are offering Irish-themed fare, starting with our new Edmonds brewery, American Brewing, where owner Neil Fallon (himself of Irish heritage) will host a celebration featuring an Oatmeal Stout on nitro tap, Irish trivia and free nibbles for everyone! “St. Patrick’s Day Shenanigans at the Brewery” is an open event in the Breakaway Room from 3-9 p.m. or as long as the crowd insists! Beer will be sold by the pint, samplers, or growlers. Ages 21 and over.
Many other restaurants are featuring Irish fare, as summarized by My Edmonds Food writer Lara Alexander in her column here. One addition: we just saw The Loft mention on Facebook that the will be offering $5 Irish car bombs, $1off all Jameson drinks and more.
