New classes at Edmonds Parks and Recreation


Check out these classes being offered during the next few weeks by Edmonds Parks & Recreation. With the exception of the online class, all will take place at the Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main St. Register in advance at 425-771-0230 or at

UKRAINIAN EGG DECORATION – Learn the ancient Ukrainian tradition of Easter egg decoration – Pysanky. Using dyes and bees wax techniques, learn the symbolic meaning of colors and designs to create at least 2 eggs. Saturday, March 26 or April 2 from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Cost is $25 plus $10 supply fee.

FABULOUS FELTED BEADS – Create unique wool felted beads for use in necklaces, earrings and other creative applications.  Learn wet and dry felting methods to make your beads then embellish them using beading techniques. Saturday, March 19 from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Cost is $35 plus $10 supply fee. Great parent/child class, open to ages 12 and older.

WRITE ABOUT YOUR LIFE: ONLINE CLASS – Learn how to access and format your memories and experiences for the purpose of creating articles, books, and souvenir memoirs for cash, friends, and/or family.  You can begin the 10-session online class at any time. Instructor’s contact information given at registration. Cost is $97.

FIT MAMAS – A workout geared for moms with babies. Interval training combining cardio, strength and flexibility. Strollers welcome. Sign up for Tuesdays and/or Thursdays 10-11 a.m. March 15-April 28 for $54. (Drop in $11).
