Three Edmonds-Woodway jazz musicians honored

About 85 students from Edmonds-Woodway High and Mountlake Terrace High participated in the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, hosted by the University of Idaho, in February. At this festival, jazz masters mentor and adjudicate student musicians in workshops and performances.

Three students from Edmonds-Woodway were selected to perform with “Hamp’s Club” — a place where outstanding soloists are invited to play on their own stage and get a feel for what it’s like to play in a club setting. The students were Hannah Burson, vocal alto; Eric Dubbury, trumpet and Miles Laven, drums.
