E-W baseball sweeps Mariner in doubleheader Friday

The Edmonds-Woodway baseball team improved its record to 4-2 league, 7-2 overall with 8-1 and 7-6 wins over Mariner in a Friday doubleheader.

Austin Jones led the Warriors, going  3-for-4 with a two-run home run and four RBI in game one and another two-run homer in the second game. He also pitched three innings for his first win of the season.

Bryce Mezich was the winning E-W pitcher in the first game, with six strikeouts, two hits and three walks.

The Warriors’ Patrick Bernard hit a double in the first game and drove in the game-winner in the second game, while Derek Callahan went 3-for-3 with two doubles and he also scored three runs.
