Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 327 calls the week of April 7-13: 273 emergency medical aid calls, 10 motor vehicle collisions, 17 fires, eight service calls, two carbon monoxide alarms, two natural gas leaks and 15 automatic fire alarms. The following calls occurred in or near Edmonds:
COLLISION. At 8:46 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of a four-car collision on southbound I-5 in Mountlake Terrace. One person was injured and transported to Northwest Hospital.
BRUSH FIRE. At 10:17 p.m., firefighters extinguished a burning mattress and shrubbery at a vacant lot near the intersection of 204th Street Southwest and Poplar Way southeast of Lynnwood.
COLLISION: At 1:03 p.m., a collision involving a car and a motorcycle was reported at the intersection of 228th Street Southwest and 76th Avenue West in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the rider to Swedish/Edmonds with minor injuries.
APPLIANCE FIRE: At 2:20 p.m., a fire was reported at a home in the 2400 block of East Greystone Lane in Woodway. Firefighters heard a fire alarm upon arriving at the scene and found the resident of the two-story home had safely evacuated. The fire was contained to a malfunctioning clothes washer.
