Edmonds police release more details on diver’s death


Here’s the Edmonds Police Department news release on the diver’s death Saturday:

On today’s date at approximately 12:34 p.m., Edmonds Police Officers responded to assist Fire District 1 Aid and Medic personnel at the Edmonds Dive Park with a diver in distress call.

Upon arrival CPR was already in progress on a 55-year-old male Edmonds resident who had been found unconscious on the bottom in approximately 30 feet of water. Fire District 1 personnel performed CPR for approximately 45 minutes on the man but were unable to revive him.

The name of the diver will only be released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiners Office after they have completed their investigation and notification of family members has been made.

  1. I feel for the son, I hope he doesnt feel guilty because he was the dive partner. I dont know about the family but I would much rather go out diving than driving.
