Tattooed robber strikes downtown Edmonds Bank of America Wednesday

    A man with distinctive facial tattoos robbed the downtown Edmonds Bank of America branch of an undisclosed amount of cash just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. According to Edmonds Police, the robber passed a note to a bank teller demanding money, then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, leaving in a getaway car driven by an accomplice.

    Police were called to the bank at 306 Main St. at 4:39 p.m., just after the robbery occurred. Employees described the suspect as a white male in his late 30s or early 40s with dark short hair and facial stubble, approximately 5-6, 120 lbs., wearing blue jeans and a loose-fitting flannel shirt.  The suspect had three tear drops tattooed under his right eye and was wearing a hat with red curly pig tails sticking out of it and sunglasses.

    The getaway car was described as a 1980s or 1990s maroon Toyota Corolla being driven by another individual who was not described, police said.

    Edmonds police are working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation on this robbery.
