An Edmonds technology engineer is the first candidate to file for Edmonds City Council position 4. A newcomer to Edmonds politics, Tad Helke, 39, will face incumbent Diane Buckshnis.
“I’m looking for helpful, aware problem solvers in my local government,” Helke said. “I think the accountability falls on myself when I see that I am suited and able to fill that position.”
Helke said he filed for position 4 because he believes it’s time “to give voters a choice and a clear contrast for the direction of government in Edmonds.”
The former Director of Technology for Olympic Reprographics for five years, Helke currently serves as a contractor for technology companies.
“My career and of course, being a dad, has taught me to weigh each issue, respect what I know and don’t know in communication to locate the problem and effectively solve it,” he said.
Helke has two children, ages 10 and 14. He has been an Edmonds homeowner for seven years.
