Led by long-time coach Mark Stewart, now in his 11th year with the Mavericks, Meadowdale High School returns several key starters that led last year’s team to the first round of the Wesco 3A playoffs.

Meadowdale, picked to finish first in the Wesco South 3A in the Seattle Times coaches poll released Wednesday, kicks off its season in an away game against Shorecrest, 7 p.m.
