My Edmonds News is proud to provide our readers with regular summaries of high school sports action at both Edmonds-Woodway and Meadowdale high schools. Most varsity sports are now starting — or are in the middle of — playoff action that could ultimately lead to state tournament play, and we will continue to provide summaries as we receive them. But nothing beats the excitement of high school football under the lights, and two BIG games are on the line this week for our high school teams Thursday and Friday night.

On Thursday, Meadowdale’s 3A team — so far undefeated at 7-0 league, 8-0 overall in Wesco 3A play — meets Oak Harbor (also undefeated, with the same record) in an 8 p.m. match-up at Edmonds District Stadium.  On Friday, Edmonds-Woodway, the Wesco South 4A champ with a 4-0 league record (5-3 overall) meets Wesco North champion Lake Stevens (5-0 league, 8-0 overall) in a 7 p.m. contest to determine seeding for next week’s district playoffs, also at Edmonds Stadium. Both games can be heard via audio webcasts: the Meadowdale game will be broadcast via WinNW.com, which covers Oak Harbor sports, and the E-W will be featured on Warrior Radio via My Edmonds News.
