Edmonds resident Michael Schindler, founder of Operations Military Family and author of the weekly Edmonds Military Wire column that appears weekly on My Edmonds News, received an Amway Hero Award for Patriotism last weekend in Orlando, Florida. Here’s an award summary from the Amway Achieve magazine website:
“Mike served his country by enlisting in the Navy. Now he’s serving others who serve their country by providing them with guidance to help preserve their families, strengthen their marriages, and curb domestic violence and suicide.”
Veterans are one of the most under served parts of society and the average American has no idea of the human cost of wars “undeclared”. No war bonds sold, no plans to work for peace, no knowledge of the numbers killed or injured.
We need a Department of Peace (Peace Corps) instead of a Department of War.
It will never happen.
Thank you for your service Michael and for working for the veterans.
It truly is my honor. We have a good team that is committed to continually serving…
Carol, I would disagree with you. The most under served population is the military family.
Priya – I would tend to agree with you. Our military families are often forgotten. It is for this very reason we stand in the gap…
