At a specially scheduled public meeting Monday morning, the Edmonds Port Commission took the following actions:
• Approved the scope of work and budget for the Harbor Square master plan phase 3, including a consulting contract with Makers architectural and planning firm.
• Approved a contract with SMS Cleaning for janitorial services for all Port facilities except Harbor Square, which is covered by a separate contract.
• Authorized purchase of a 2012 pickup work truck configured with tool boxes on the sides and a cargo rack.
• Recognized retiring Commissioner Marianne Zagorski for her eight years service to the Port and the community. “I never intended to serve more than a single term,” she said, “but the importance of the matters we were dealing with and the dedication and quality of the people I had the opportunity to work with persuaded me to extend to a second term. It has been a very memorable eight years. I will miss it.”
This was the final Commission meeting of the year. The Dec. 26 meeting has been cancelled. The next regular meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, in the Port Commission meeting room.
