Despite a narrow 55-51 loss to Auburn Riverside Thursday night, the future looks bright for the Edmonds-Woodway girls basketball team. The Lady Warriors (1-1) have just one senior — Madeline Kasper — but the younger players proved they could hold their own during Thursday night non-league contest against the always-competitive Ravens.
Sophomore Sidney Eck and freshman Samone Jackson each scored 12 points, but the Warriors — who led 30-26 at halftime — got into foul trouble in the second half. They pulled to within two points — 53-51 — with a minute left, and had a couple of chances to tie the game, but weren’t able to convert the opportunities.
E-W’s next game will be Wednesday, Dec. 7 at Jackson High School, with tip-off at 7:15 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on Warrior Radio.
