Just in time for the holidays, a spokeswoman for Panera Bread confirmed Monday that Panera will open its bakery-cafe at Highway 104 and 205th Street Southwest, just north of Aurora Village this Thursday.
“People love to go to the cafe during the holidays, to spend time with family and friends,” said Linn Parrish, Panera’s VP of Public Relations. “We are glad to be open in time for that.”
Hours for the new cafe, which features a convenient drive-thru and — for the warmer months — outdoor seating, are Monday-Saturday from 6 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m.- 9 p.m. Holiday hours for the next two weeks are Christmas Eve, 6 a.m.-5 p.m., closed Christmas Day, and open New Year’s Eve from 6 a.m.-7 p.m. and New Year’s Day from 7 a.m.-9 p.m.
Rhema Hernandez, Panera’s Senior Manager of Regional Marketing, said the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce and City of Edmonds officials will have an opening ceremony for the Edmonds cafe in January.
The cafe will offer a fresh bakery menu of breads, bagels and pastries with a cafe menu of made-to-order deli and grilled panini sandwiches built on their own fresh-baked breads, hand-tossed salads and a daily selection of soups served in a bread bowl.
Currently, Panera Bread has 1,453 locations across North America under the Panera Bread, Saint Louis Bread Co. and Paradise Bakery & Café names. The Edmonds Panera has been hiring for several weeks and will employee between 30-40 people, Parrish said.
