Reminder: New Year’s Eve, Day fun in Edmonds

Making plans for New Year’s Eve or Day?

You can find a list of Edmonds restaurants offering New Year’s Eve celebrations here. In addition, Robin Hood Lanes is offering New Year’s Eve Moonlight Bowling with check-in at 9 p.m. and bowling beginning at 9:30 p.m. Cost is $30 per person prepaid or $35 at the door, and includes four games of bowling, sandwiches, chips and dip buffet, and champagne at midnight. For reservations, call 425-776-2101.

For those hardy souls who believe in starting the New Year with a cold dip, you’re invited to the fifth annual Polar Bear Plunge, which takes place officially at 1 p.m. at Brackett’s Landing. However, there are two hours of warmup involved, starting with a 11 a.m. meeting at Daphne’s, 415 1/2 Main St., for members of the Edmonds Uplift Society, who have paid for the privilege of owning an official “plunge” bath robe, embroidered for each year, and a Rainier Beer toast. (All proceeds benefit the Edmonds Museum.)

Don’t fret if you didn’t officially register for the plunge: All are invited to have a drink at Daphne’s pre-dip, or to simply join the crowd at Brackett’s Landing starting at 1 p.m.
