The Edmonds Arts Commission is presenting an exhibit of watercolor paintings by Charlette Haugen. Her exhibit at the Edmonds Library runs Jan. 31-March 15. Library hours are Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 9 a.m.- 6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday 1-5 p.m. The Edmonds Library is located at 650 Main St.

“Scapes” is an eclectic mix of paintings featuring Cityscapes, Seascapes and Landscapes. Haugen’s painting encompasses a wide variety of subject matter, but leans towards outdoor subjects from her many travels. Her style is an impressionistic yet realistic one, catching the eye and drawing the viewer in to linger.

A native of Wisconsin, Charlette Haugen now lives in Seattle and has studied and worked with many northwest watercolor artists. Before” retiring” to her full time art career, she pursued careers in interior design and social work. She has participated in numerous exhibits, and was selected as poster artist for the 2009 Edmonds Arts Festival, the Shoreline Arts Festival and the 2004 Magnolia Summer Festival.
