Jan Vance named Executive Director of Edmonds-based MS Helping Hands

Jan Vance

Former Edmonds Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jan Vance has been hired as Executive Director of Edmonds-based MS Helping Hands, which provides services, resources and information aimed at enhancing the quality of life for people with Multiple Sclerosis.

“I have been looking for just the right person for over two years to function as an Executive Director,” said Bill Brayer, founder and president of MS Helping Hands and the Donor Closet, which recycles durable medical and mobility equipment for people with MS and other special needs for a suggested minimum donation. “Jan has outstanding credentials and is exactly what MSHH needs. She brings enthusiasm as well as a commitment to get the job done. Her accomplishments during her tenure with the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce are exactly what MSHH is looking for.”

The Chamber announced last week that it had eliminated Vance’s job and was replacing it with two manager positions, citing the need to streamline its operations in the face of declining revenue. Vance had worked for the Chamber 15 years.

  1. WONDERFUL NEWS! I have so much appreciated how Jan has moved the Chamber forward during the last 15 years. She always made the many volunteers that are the backbone of our Chamber feel appreciated. She walks the talk of “service above self”. Perfect fit with the MSHH.
Joan Longstaff (Chamber member since 1980 & former Pres.)
    & Director for MSHH.

  2. Congratulations Jan! So excited for you and your next adventure. We appreciate all you contributed to the Chamber! All the very Best!
