Applicants sought for City’s Economic Development Commission

The Edmonds City Council is seeking applicants interested in serving on the City of Edmonds Economic Development Commission.

The purpose of the commission is to address specific issues related to economic development. It is responsible for helping identify new sources of revenue as a direct result of economic development projects and new strategies for economic development; it is also charged with providing recommendations regarding strategies for economic development and other matters that will improve commercial viability, tourist development and activity for consideration by the City Council. In addition to its other duties, the commission will work in conjunction with the Planning Board to review and consider economic development strategies.

City Council members may appoint up to two members each and the mayor may appoint up to three members (Commission members must reside within Edmonds city limits). Meetings of the commission are held on the third Wednesday evening of each month.

Interested individuals may apply online, can pick up an application at the reception desk in City Hall, 121-5th Ave. N., or call 425-771-0247 to receive an application by mail or email. Applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 24.
