The Edmonds-Woodway football team had a comfortable 21-6 lead at halftime but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Jackson Timberwolves, who took an overtime win from the Warriors at Everett Stadium Friday night.

The Timberwolves outscored E-W 22-7 in the second half and knotted the score at 28 just before regulation ended, following a couple of costly Warrior turnovers. Jackson scored first in the overtime period and added a two-point conversion to take a 36-28 lead. E-W answered with a touchdown of their own, but the conversion attempt to tie failed, giving the T-Wolves the victory in the Wesco South opener for both teams.

E-W’s Junior Opoku-Mensah, who rushed for over 300 yards, was named the Warrior Radio Revelations Yogurt Player of the Game for his performance.
