The Main Street Improvement Project is all but complete, traffic is flowing, pedestrians are strolling the new widened promenades, and merchants are on a sugar high.

Carol Schillios, owner of Fabric of Life, was out on the sidewalk wearing a huge smile and greeting passersby. “It’s fabulous!” she said. “Things were very slow during construction, but today people are back walking the street and stopping in our store.”

“We’re looking forward to a great holiday season with lots of local shoppers supporting us and the other downtown Edmonds merchants,” she added.  “Avoid the hassle of the mall, and ‘shop small’ right here in downtown Edmonds.”

And a reminder that this Saturday, Nov. 24, is indeed the official “Small Business Saturday.”  So spread the word, and shop small!

    1. Support Local Businesses – Small Business Saturday, which is dedicated to supporting small businesses in the U.S., is being celebrated Nov. 24.  According to the Small Business Administration,  over half of all working Americans own or work for a small business.  Shopping at small locally owned  businesses is a great way to ensure that more dollars stay within the community.

    2. YippeeEE!

Five of my destination-business spots/stops are on Main St. between 5th & 6th… no make that Six! Seven! From nails, to styles, from fashion to frozen yogurt – plus dinner and drinks with girlfriends ~ all right around the corner from my home!

Loving Edmonds! Congratulations and Hearty Applause!
