Update on fundraising for Scriber Lake families: $320 plus grocery gift cards
Sunday night update: Thanks to our readers’ generosity, we’ve raised $320 so far, and received an offer of grocery store gift cards from the Edmonds Community Foundation. Look for brief profiles of each family this week, but meanwhile, all contributions are warmly welcomed and appreciated!
Last week, My Edmonds News was asked by an anonymous donor to find a family — headed by a single mom — who was in particular need of help to provide gifts for her children this holiday season. It should be no surprise that after the donor was connected with a suitable family, we received the names of three more parents — all moms of teens at Edmonds-based Scriber Lake High School — who need assistance.
So we in turn are asking our wonderful readers for their assistance by launching an online drive for these 2012 Families in Need. We will collect donations and pass them along to high school.
You can donate online here. And to sweeten the deal, anyone making a donation of $100 or more will receive a 2013 Edmonds Historical Calendar, courtesy of My Edmonds News.

What do you need?
I am taking cash donations and then will use that to purchase what families need
Teresa, the Edmonds Community Foundation would like to contribute groceries and/or grocery cards. Please email me so we can connect.
