Peterson says he will run to retain Edmonds City Council seat
Edmonds City Councilmember Strom Peterson on Friday announced his plan to run for a second term in November.
Peterson also shared his list of endorsements so far, including International Association of Firefighters Edmonds Local 1828, current Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling and former Mayor Gary Haakenson, State Rep. Marko Liias, Snohomish County Council President Stephanie Wright and former Edmonds City Councilmember Deanna Dawson.
Peterson is the owner of the Cheesemonger’s Table in downtown Edmonds.
In his campaign announcement, Peterson acknowledged the city’s difficult economic challenges. “Edmonds is facing tight budgets for years to come, but we are all committed to working together to promote Edmonds as a great place to live, visit and do business,” Peterson said.
Peterson is the first of three Edmonds City Councilmembers with expiring terms to announce election plans. The other two are first-term Councilmember Adrienne Fraley-Monillas and Kristiana Johnson, who was appointed last year to fill a seat vacated by the resignation of Councilmember Michael Plunkett.
Peterson will hold a campaign kick-off event in March. For more information, email votestrom@gmail.com.

Where do I send my contributions!
A great decision!
Working with Strom over the years has shown his knowledge and concerned to do the right thing for our town. Running for council is not the most fun thing to do with ones time but fortunately for Edmonds Strom had given of his time and talents to make Edmonds a better place. Good luck Strom.
Strom has proven to be a leader as he worked through many issues these last two years as Council President. He is balanced and recognizes the strengths and weaknesses of our current and past Council Members. He is trustworthy and willing to let those of us that know how to do our job be – which is why we were able to change a tremendous amount of reporting issues in finance and create significant and needed policies. Many know that Strom and I did/do not always agree about land use issues, but he is willing to sit down and have a civil conversation which is appreciative to those of us with opposing views. Good Luck, Strom – you have my support.
Micheal:
Send the money over to my place, I will get it right over to Strom. Ha! ha!
