Families gather for Read Across America Day in Edmonds

Edmonds author Kizzie Jones shows a picture from her book, ‘How Dachshunds Came to Be: A Tall Tale About a Short Long Dog.”
Children and their parents gathered at Revelations Yogurt in downtown Edmonds Saturday to listen to local educators and elected officials reading their favorite children’s books during a day-long Read Across America celebration sponsored by the Edmonds Education Association and the Edmonds Public Schools Foundation. The day, timed to coincide with birthday of Dr. Seuss, also served as a fundraiser for Edmonds School District libraries.
