Rubberneck Farms plans for spring
Rubberneck Farms on Maplewood Drive recently posted an update:
“With Spring rapidly approaching we thought we’d let everyone know what’s happening at Rubberneck Farms. We have decided for the 2013 season that we will not be operating our weekly neighborhood farm stand or CSA. Instead we will be operating as the Rubberneck Farms Neighborhood Pumpkin Patch! We will be selling pumpkins, corn, and winter squash during September and October as well as organizing a neighborhood fall festival of sorts. We fought vehemently for the right for everyone to sell produce grown from their own property in the City of Edmonds last year, so its time for you all to be your own farmers. Grow! Eat! Sell! Trade! Grow! This season we will also be acting as an online resource. We will be posting pictures of our own garden all season as well as posting tips we have learned along the way. We will have more time to educate and answer questions as well reach out into the community to fight for food security. We are also trying to figure out how to sustain Rubberneck Farms for in terms of funds/labor for the 2014 season and beyond to maintain it permanently as a Community Resource and Source of hyper-local produce. So please send us your questions via email or stop on by as you see us in the garden. Feel free to use (Facebook) as a forum for Urban Gardening and Food Security. Happy Growing Rubberneckers!”
