Edmonds police nab suspect in armed robbery attempt outside Park 212 apartments

Edmonds police have arrested a 23-year-old Edmonds man in connection with attempted armed robbery of an Edmonds woman outside the Park 212 Apartments last week.

Edmonds police spokesman Sgt. Mark Marsh said that an Edmonds police detective assigned to the case spotted the suspect walking northbound on Highway 99 around 5 p.m. Wednesday, and the man was taken into custody.

The man is suspected of trying to rob the 35-year-old woman at gunpoint just after 9 a.m. May 15 as she was exiting her car outside the Park 212 apartment complex, located at 72nd Avenue West and 213th Place Southwest. The incident prompted a lock-down of nearby schools after the man fled on foot.

The suspect was booked into jail on first-degree robbery charges with bail set at $25,000. The suspect’s name will not be released until after he is formally charged, Marsh said.
