Red Petal Tunes, a weekly music scene night, kicked off at Red Petal Coffee in downtown Edmonds Friday.
“It was gratifying to see so many come,” said Manya Vee, organizer of the event.
Highlights of the evening included well-known musician of the Northwest Bill Derry performing his newest originals, including a whimsical take on a romantic robot. Robby Segar also contributed, on guitar, his newest works. Sarena Ahumada, 13, wowed the crowd with her impressive voice.
Red Petal Tunes runs every Friday night at Red Petal Coffee, 321 Main Street, from 5-8 pm. There is no cover charge. Interested musicians can email Manya@MaJeGallery.com. More information is available at Facebook.com/RedPetalTunes, by calling 425-776-3778 or by visiting 409 Main St.
