Moving for better balance class available through Edmonds Parks & Rec
Offered by Edmonds Parks and Recreation: Improve balance and increase self-confidence in performing daily activities in this research-based fall prevention program that uses the principles and movements of Tai Chi.
Involves weight-bearing and non-weight bearing stances, postural alignment, coordinated movements and synchronized breathing. This exercise program has been recommended by the Center For Disease Control and Prevention as an effective intervention to prevent falls for older adults. Most effective for participants to take full 12 week program.
Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m., Sept. 3 – Oct. 17 and then Oct. 22 – Dec. 5. Six-week session cost $82 with registration, $94 without. Class held at the Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main St., Edmonds. Register at Edmonds Parks and Rec 425-771-0230 or www.reczone.org.
