The City of Edmonds has received a clean audit from the Washington State Auditor, following a review of the city’s financial statements. That’s according to a news release sent Monday by the City of Edmonds.
The report was issued Monday, Sept. 23 by the office of State Auditor Troy Kelley and covers the period from Jan. 1, 2012 through Dec. 31, 2012. It gave the city an unmodified opinion on its 2012 financial statements, meaning those financial statements “are presented fairly in all material respects,” the news release said. The State Auditor also confirmed that the City of Edmonds is compliant with federal guidelines in managing its major federally funded programs.
In addition, the report noted that there were no significant deficiencies in the design or operation of internal control in the area of financial reporting or in Edmonds’ major federal programs.
“We take great pride in the ongoing quality work of our Finance Department,” Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling said.
