Dogs and their owners can enjoy the spirit of the season during Off-Leash Area Edmonds’ Ninth Annual Halloween Howl Saturday, Oct. 19, from 11a.m.- 2 p.m.  The event will be at the off-leash dog beach, 498 Admiral Way.

There will be pet-friendly vendor booths, a silent auction and raffle, and the always-popular doggie costume contest.  Judging for the costume contest will be at 1 p.m. There will be prizes for “Most Original,”“Funniest,” “Best Sports Team Dog,” and “Best Owner and Dog Combination.” All entrants will take home a goody-bag of doggie treats.

Hot dogs and sodas for the humans will be for sale outside the off-leash area. Smoked dog bones provided by Celtic Cowboy BBQ will be for sale inside the park with proceeds going to Off-Leash Area Edmonds (O.L.A.E.).

Edmonds Animal Control will again be in attendance to answer questions, and let citizens tour the Animal Control vehicle. As a community service, O.L.A.E. will pay for new City of Edmonds dog licenses.

O.L.A.E. is a non-profit organization that provides the continued support and stewardship to the only designated off-leash dog beach in Edmonds. For additional information visit www.olae.org.

  1. Sounds like fun, may I suggest that the non-doggie owners should also be encouraged to attend as not all the silent auction items are dog related. Thanks
