Arts coalition to meet Saturday to discuss state funding for arts education
Here’s a reminder of the Cultural Access Fund (CAF) Coalition Open Forum Saturday, Oct. 12 at Edmonds Center for the Arts from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
The coalition will be hosting a discussion forum on legislation that will be proposed in the 2014 Washington State legislative session. This forum will consist of a brief presentation on the current version of the CAF bill, followed by a question-and-answer session. The CAF Coalition invites you and anyone from your organization to attend, and to use this as an opportunity to ask any questions or share any concerns you may have.
Please RSVP to the event by emailing Gillian Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Cultural Access Fund effort was developed by a coalition of 35 cultural organizations in the Puget Sound region. The legislation seeks authority from the state to put a measure on the ballot in any county to ask voters to approve a new public revenue source dedicated to increasing access to a variety of cultural experiences for students, families, and the general public. It has a special emphasis on arts education and transportation to cultural organizations by school groups.
