Author Terry Persun to speak at the library on Monday
“I love what I do,” said Terry Persun, a Pushcart-nominated multi-genre writer, coming to the Edmonds Library for a talk on Monday at 11 a.m. Persun’s talk on “The Pros and Cons of Writing in Different Genres” is hosted by EPIC Group Writers.
“Writing in several different genres isn’t recommended by publishers and agents, “ said Persun, “but it has its good and bad points just like anything else.” On Monday, Persun will discuss cross-genre marketing, readership and workload, with tips to determine when to write across genres, or stick with one. He writes in historical fiction, mainstream, literary, science fiction and fantasy.
Persun’s latest poetry collection is “And Now This.” His novels, “Wolf’s Rite” and “Cathedral of Dreams” were ForeWord magazine Book of the Year finalists in the science fiction category, and his novel “Sweet Song” won a Silver IPPY Award. Other works include the science fiction space opera “Hear No Evil,” the fantasy “Doublesight,” and mainstream novel “Ten Months in Wonderland.” For more information on Persun, visit his website.
