Fire District 1 fire calls, week of Oct. 3-9
Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 349 calls the week of Oct. 3-9: 281 emergency medical aid calls, 27 motor vehicle collisions, 17 fires, 7 service calls, 1 gas leaks, 1 technical rescue and 15 automatic fire alarms.
COLLISION: At 6:44 a.m., a two-car, rear-end collision was reported on southbound I-405 at the I-5 overpass north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
COLLISION: At 3:22 p.m., firefighters responded to a three-car collision on northbound I-5 south of 128th Street SW south of Everett. One patient was transported by ambulance to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
COLLISION: At 3:14 p.m., a man in a wheelchair was seriously injured when he was struck by a car at Admiralty Way and Gibson Road south of Everett. Firefighters transported the man to Harborview Medical Center.
COLLISION: At 4:03 p.m., a car flipped and came to rest on its roof fire in the 19700 block of Filbert Drive east of Lynnwood. The driver was transported by firefighters to Harborview Medical Center.
MOBILE HOME FIRE: At 4:24 p.m., a fire was reported in a double-wide mobile home in the 13300 block of Highway 99 south of Everett. No one was home and there were no injuries. Investigators determined the fire was started by a burner on the stove that had been left turned on. A cat died in the blaze and the mobile home was a total loss.
COLLISION: At 1:38 p.m., firefighters responded to a collision involving a car and a motorcycle at Airport Road and E Gibson Road south of Everett. One patient was transported by firefighters to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
COLLISION: At 3:38 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 10th Drive SE and Andrew Sater Road south of Everett. Firefighters transported one patient with minor injuries to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
COLLISION: At 9:52 a.m., a car struck a bicyclist at 128th Street SW and 8th Avenue W south of Everett. Firefighters transported the injured cyclist to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
Fire District 1 is the largest provider of fire and emergency medical services in Snohomish County, with full-time staffing at 12 fire stations. The department serves nearly 200,000 residents in unincorporated south Snohomish County, Brier, Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace and Woodway.
