Nearly 40 Westgate Elementary School staff came together for a day of learning Saturday, Sept. 28.
According to the school’s principal, Rob Baumgartner, Westgate won a $40,000 grant last spring from the I am a Leader Foundation to help fund the implementation of “The Leader in Me” character education program. A vital part of this program, which teaches students Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, is providing professional development for school staff, which is what happened last Saturday.
