Edmonds-Woodway’s boys basketball team traveled to Snohomish Tuesday looking for a rare win against a North division opponent. Unfortunately, the Warriors let a four-point half-time lead slip-away, falling 55-50 to the Panthers. E-W was tied with Snohomish as late as 2:30 left in the fourth quarter, but a series of missed shots down the stretch gave the win to Snohomish.
Travis Bakken continued his resurgence, scoring 21 points to lead the Warriors. Jason Smarr was next with 10, followed closely by Brady Edwards’ nine. Chukumu Okereke and Theo Lebesis had four each with Trey Holland scoring the EW’s other bucket. Josh Baird led a trio of Panthers in double figures with 17, followed by Tanner Arrington with 12 and Wyatt Harris with 11.
The Warriors have two more games this week, both at home: Thursday against Lake Stevens and Friday against Mount Vernon. Start times for both are 7:15 p.m.
Warriors’ Scoring: Bakken 21, Smarr 10, Edwards 9, Okereke 4, Lebesis 4, Holland 2
