Girls basketball: Royals beat Warriors 76-48

warrior-logoMonty Cooper and Mikayla Pivec each scored 19 points to lead Lynnwood to a 76-48 victory over district rival Edmonds-Woodway in a Wesco 4A girls basketball game Wednesday at Edmonds-Woodway High School.

The Warriors kept the game close in the first half, trailing 33-23 at halftime. Lynnwood then outscored Edmonds-Woodway 22-11 in the third quarter.

Lynnwood’s Kelsey Rogers scored 15 points as the Royals improved to 12-0 in the league and 16-1 overall. Edmonds-Woodway (6-6, 10-7) was led by Sidney Eck, who had 13 points and Missy Peterson, who had 11 points.
