Injured man, woman found at Meadowdale Beach Park Friday night

Updated with additional details

Snohomish County Sheriff Deputies located a severely injured man and woman at Meadowdale Beach Park in Edmonds on Friday night.

Deputies responded to a suspicious call complaint through 911 at about 10:23 p.m. With thermal imaging equipment, police were able to locate the man and woman, according to Lieutenant A.J. Bryant. It took about 90 minutes to find them, said Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes.

A report from KOMO-TV said the injuries to the two were sustained during an unsuccessful suicide attempt, although we were unable to confirm that report with the sheriff’s office Saturday.

Hynes said that emergency medical crews were in the parking lot to assist when law enforcement officers brought the injured pair out of the park. The two, described as appearing in their early 20s, were taken to Harborview Medical Center. The man had life-threatening injuries while the woman was described as in serious condition, Hynes said.
